Editor’s tip: If you prefer a sweeter margarita, add the simple syrup (or agave nectar) here. Add ice and stir with a large spoon until the cocktail is chilled and the outside of the pitcher has formed condensation. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the side of the glass (this has the added benefit that you can use it to remove the salt rim if you decide you don't want it).
